NGC 6910 was first identified by William Herschel in 1786, though an 18.7 inch reflector telescope.  His son John Herschel inserted it into the General Catalog of Nebulae and Cluster with the number 2077.  NGC 6910 is a cluster of tens of stars of brighter magnitude than 12.  Its distance has been estimated to be 11400 parsec (3710 light years) of slightly higher, around 1500 parsec (4890 light years).  The cluster is located in the surrounding Cygnus X large nebula system to which numerous OB associated are tied, including Cygnus OB2 and Cygnus 0B9, probably which NGC 6910 is enveloped.  Estimated age at 5 to 10 million years at most and was determined by photometric studies.  NGC 6910 enveloped in rich emission nebulae from 40 stellar stars showing vastly huge amounts of emissions in the Hydrogen Alpha band.
